Description: The Agbe or [ággüe, aggüé or chekeré] is an Afro-Cuban rattle; it is made of large gourd having a net of beads or sees on courts around the outside of the instrument. This technique of tying a net around the gourd and allows the rattle behave like external strikers.
Might be played in groups of three different sizes, the largest about 50 cm long. Nowadays a tin sphere sometimes substitutes for the gourd.
