Description: The Aslatua, Kashaka or Televi are three of the numerous names for the double rattle that is found in Ghana and neighbouring countries. Depending on the region aslatua are played by men, women and children.
Playing Techniques: The Aslatua are are capable of performing very complex rhythms in the hands of a skilled player. Especially when played with a set in each hand.
Construction: Aslatua are made from two small swawa gourds that have pebbles or seeds inside. The two gourds are attached with a single length of thick string.
