Description: Although it is called a “mandolin” this instrument should not be confused from the Neapolitan mandolin as from Italy. This particular modified instrument is the creation of Ulupapu surinivas. The instrument is more resemblant of a solid-body electric guitar slightly smaller then an “octave guitar”. The strings have been reduced from eight double course strings to five single strings. Allowing for the facilitation and control of gamaka.
