Description: The mih from Herzegovina, or dipla it is one of the more archaic type of mih as found in Croatia. Having a double chanter with finger holes drilled into both sides of the playing chanter. During performance both sides are covered with the same fingers.
Playing Techniques: The characteristic of playing on this type of mih is that the “accompaniment” to the melody and rhythm is played on the upper two or three holes and the melody is played on the other lower rows of holes. With all of the other types of mih, it is the other way around: the melody is played on the upper holes and the accompaniment on the lower ones.
