Description: This instrument was originally a standard classical guitar. It was later modified to exhibit the same properties of the melody strings on the sarod. The modification was done in a manner in where the original fretboard was removed and a polished steel fretless fingerboard was fitted onto the neck. it was developed and played by sarode player Pandit Vassant Rai during the early 1980s. The tuning is altered from standard E A D G B E to B F# B G B E respectively.

Description: The Anandi meaning “bliss” in Sanskrit is a recently developed instrument by Pandit. Debashish Bhattacharya. It is a modified version of ukulele, inspired from the Weisenborn slide guitar in terms of body and profile tuned in fifths C3 G4 C3 G stringed version C2 G3 C4 G4 C5 G6 for a six stringed version also available. This instrument also has a raised nut and lacks frets although has markers in place.
